FacWorld Report - The Links Edition
Hi and welcome back to the FacWorld Report!
Since the last edition, we have had a large increase in Profile holders and are pleased to welcome new readers to the Report. We hope that Report readers, new and old, will continue to derive value from the e-mailing.
Previous editions of the FacWorld Report have been article based reports. This month we are pleased to present a website links edition. Underwriters at GeneralCologne Re have been using the Internet extensively in the last few years to help underwrite risk. This edition covers numerous classes of business in different jurisdictions, we hope that the pages can help share some of the sites our underwriters have found useful. We appreciate your comments and if you have further web pages to add, please write to us.
This edition is led off by an article by Chris Henson, a Vice President of GeneralCologne Re, who works in Stamford. Chris is an insightful thinker on e-commerce and his article "Clicks & Mortar - the empire strikes back" sums up this edition - It's not the technology that's useful, it's how people use it that counts.

The web is full of sites, which illustrate equipment used, national organisations and the work of different mining companies. Gavin Rowatt of our Toronto branch has collected sites that show activity in the USA, South Africa, Canada, the UK, Australia and the Netherlands.

FacWorld has hosted an earthquake links page since our birth in November last year. For this edition, we have added some new links (including links to Earthquake Photo collections) and emphasised contact to our speciality Network. The researching of Earthquakes is as fascinating as it is vital. Earthquakes are the least understood of natural disasters and the attempt to comprehend them can be helped greatly by the resources on the web.
