FacWorld Report - May 2001
Hi, and welcome back to the FacWorld Report.
This has been a big month for FacWorld, with the launch of the *New Look*. We hope you appreciate the new dynamics and the fresher, cleaner approach to the pages. Basically, we feel it makes the site a good deal more consistent, enjoyable.... in a word - better.
Some of the publications that appear in the FacWorld Report require Adobe Acrobat to view. If you do not have Adobe Acrobat Reader, please click on the below link to download the viewer.

We have had a lot of interest and comment from the first two articles in the Non-Proportional Reinsurance trilogy and it is with great pleasure that we present the final piece on the vexed issue of compression. As with the first two (which can be found on the FacWorld Report Home Page), the article is available in both English and German.
Please click on one of the links below to open the article.
English - Treaty Compression and the effects of Non-Proportional Fac R.I.
Deutsch - "Kompression"
The special feature in this month's Report is on Mad Cow Disease, a problem which seems to remain a constant in the news in the UK and Europe. Since 1995, GeneralCologne Re have been monitoring the situation and here we present a collection of reviews from the 90's and a look at the implication for underwriters today.

Toxic Mold has come to dominate some of the FacWorld content pages recently, being a newly litigated area in the arena of Pollution Liability. This month, we include an article examining just what is mold and what does it do, in an article titled - The Science of Mold. The document requires Adobe Acrobat.
