Welcome to the FacWorld Discussion Forum
There is tremendous value in creative thinking and shared values. To encourage this, we've created discussion forums that allow you to engage your insurance colleagues in a dialogue from anywhere in the world. We offer separate discussion forums for each of our three lines of facultative reinsurance:
Casualty
Property
Ocean Marine
How to Use the Discussion Forum
Discussion forum contents are displayed by Topic. You can also view forum contents by Category or Date. 'Category' refers to an insurance-related subject such as Umbrella, Environment, or Construction. Categories are selected by the person who posts a topic. This person can indicate no Category by leaving that field blank. A view by 'Date' means that discussion forum topics and responses will be displayed in ascending order by the date on which they were posted.
You can perform the following actions in the FacWorld discussion forum:
- View a discussion topic
- Initiate a discussion topic
- View a response
- Post a response
- Receive response notification
- Search the forum
To view an existing discussion topic, take the following steps:
1. Select the business line forum (i.e. Casualty, Property, or Ocean Marine) you'd like to review.
2. Topics are highlighed in bold and are indicated by a blue arrowhead. Click on the discussion topic you'd like to review.
This takes you to the discussion topic page.
On this page, you'll find the topic's post date, author name, author comments, a category (if selected) and an attachment (if attached).
To respond to topic comments, you must have the topic page open. From the topic page, take the following steps:
1. Click on Post a Response link. This takes you to the Post a Response page.
2. Type in an author name and a subject. For example, suppose you're responding to a topic called 'Recent Hazardous Waste Case Law,' and it's author wants to locate a particular legal reference. You can name your subject something general, such as 'I can help,' or something more specific, such as 'Case Number ZYY146.'
3. Type your response in the 'Comments' box.
4. Add an attachment if desired. Use the 'browse' button to select the document you want to attach.
5. Press 'Send and Exit' to post your response.
You can view responses by simply clicking on the response you want to view.
To initiate a discussion, take the following steps:
1. Click on the Post a Topic link. This takes you to the Post a Topic page.
2. Select a Category, if desired.
3. Type a name in the 'Author' field.
4. Type the name of your topic in the 'Topic' field
5. Type your comments or questions about the 'Comments' box.
6. Attach a document in the 'Attachment(s)' field, if desired. Use the 'browse' button to select the document you want to attach.
7. Save and Exit to post your topic on the forum.
To receive notification each time a response is made to a particular topic, take the following steps:
1. Click on the 'Subscribe to Topic' link to the right of the topic to which you want to subscribe. This takes you to the Subscription Topic page.
2. Type your email address in the 'Email Address' field.
3. Press 'Add' to process your subscription request. You'll receive an email each time someone posts a response to the topic you subscribed to.
To deactivate the notification process, click on the 'Subscribe to a Topic' link and press 'Remove.'
To search a discussion forum by topic, word, or string of words, click on the Search the Forum link at the top of each discussion forum page. |
